SAGA Bar – Sydney Hidden Bar

Have you been to this hidden bar yet?

Watch the Video Here!

There’s something about knowing a secret that makes everything more fun. Which is exactly what makes hidden bars and underground clubs go to places for the weekend when you’re in need of a fun night out.

And SAGA bar in Chippendale, Sydney is just one of these places.

I’ve been a few times since being introduced to this Indiana Jones-esque world from friends, and I can honestly say I have a great time each time I go.

How to Get There:

Address: 49-51 Goold St. Chippendale, 2008

So I just gave you the address, but you’ll probably still walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. Walk down the alleyway of Goold St, and you’ll find this understated doorway with some cool metal work above it.

Press the buzzer and wait to be let in.

What to Expect:

The moment you step in you’ll find yourself in a mythical world of water features and “ancient” artifacts from exotic cultures. Think Indiana Jones cross Jumanji and you get SAGA bar.

Their drinks menu has some fun creations that taste dangerous.

A.K.A you’re going to get drunk without realizing it because they go down so easily.

Their food menu doesn’t disappoint either. Some great finger bites for sharing.

Things I tried from the video above:

  • Eastern Royalty (cocktail)
  • The Two Faces of Janus (Cocktail)
  • Lavender Husk (Cocktail)
  • Beef Cheeks Bunny Chow
  • Mofo Sake Fritters
  • Hummus
  • Crispy Chicken Bouchons
