Singapore has many claims to fame, but its pride and joy must be their world ranking airport.
Jewel Changi airport.
Its ranked the world’s best several years in a row and honestly, I don’t think there’s any airport that even comes close with the recently opened Jewel Changi.
However, I missed it on my first trip because of a BIG FAT EMBARRASSING MISTAKE…that made me book another trip soon after.
Here’s my experience at Jewel Changi canopy park!
YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT!
Jewel Changi is actually an entertainment shopping complex that is linked with the airport. It’s open to the public which means… *drum roll*
DON’T GO THROUGH IMMIGRATION AT THE AIRPORT.
You won’t be able to visit the Jewel if you do. How do I know this? Because that’s exactly what I did last time I was in Singapore.
I made sure I didn’t make the same mistake twice.
I grabbed a taxi directly to Jewel Changi instead of the airport and was welcomed with the jaw dropping view of the Rain Vortex at the main entrance.
You have to see it to believe it.
The Rain Vortex is the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, standing at 40 meters high and pouring over 37,000 litres of water per minute!
It’s impressive. Honestly, breathtaking and if I was made of money, I would fly to Singapore JUST to see it. But I’m not, so it’s a good thing Singapore has great food and other fun attractions that justify a visit!
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Being a massive entertainment and retail complex, you will find something that suites everyone. But it’s not just the usual stuff like shops and food. (they have that too, a great selection of stores and dining options actually!)
They have the Shiseido Forrest Valley, a very cool indoor garden. One of the largest in Asia, which surrounds the Rain Vortex.
Changi Experience Studio, a MASSIVE area dedicated to cool interactive games showing the history of Changi.
However, I didn’t spend my few hours shopping or admiring the indoor greenery. I spent it at THE CANOPY PARK; located at the very top of the Jewel is where you’ll find cafes, panoramic views of the Vortex and also one of a kind amusement attractions.
Entering the park requires a ticket which allows in the main areas and additional costs are needed if you want to experience individual attractions. I was lucky enough to try all of them out.
Watch the video above to see me struggle on the sky nets, get lost in the mazes, and have fun with the rest!
