Is The Zen the best capsule hotel in tokyo?

This video was made in partnership with Hotel Zen Tokyo.
Staying in a capsule hotel in Japan has been a bucket list item for me for a very long time, and it was awesome to, for the first time, stay at a ryokan-like capsule accommodation. The most important things to me in any accommodation is how clean the place is, the location and overall sleep quality.
And I have to say – this place was spotless clean and so comfy I ended up sleeping in instead of heading out early to Tsukiji market… I did end up going to Tsukiji market in the end. You can watch all the great finds I found there here.

What to expect?
A very sleek, elegant design throughout the hotel with a strong Ryokan aesthetic. Every little detail was well thought out and executed. From the comfortable bed, the locker sizes to put your belongs and shoes in, to the amenities in the washroom.
I really appreciate all the thought that was put into the details.
Also I have to say, the bed, pillow was seriously comfy.
Like all capsule hotels in Japan, there are no locked doors. There is a curtain that gives you sufficient privacy, though it does mean being quiet is a must.
Free breakfast was included, which I of course tried out. It was a simple spread of a few different types of bread, coffee, tea and some different juice options.
It’s simple, but like everything else about The Zen – it was beautifully executed. The breads and coffee was seriously delicious.
