Trying Singaporean Indian Food

Singaporean Indian Food

For someone who really likes to eat, I’m actually really ignorant and inexperienced with many cuisines.

Indian food being one of them, and one of the first times I’ve tried Indian food was in Singapore!

I just kept seeing Indian restaurants with food that looked SO good. I just had to explore the Singaporean Indian food scene. So here was my experience. (I ended up having Indian food a few more times in my short trip in Singapore)

What to expect?

Indian cuisine is similar to Chinese cuisine, every area, region has its distant style and flavour profiles. In Singapore you will find all various styles of Indian cuisine, from North Indian curries that are heavier and meatier to South Indian curries that are typically vegetarian.

Indian food is rich and bursting full of flavour which is great when you don’t have much of an appetite from sweating all day in the Singaporean heat. The aromatic flavours really make you want to eat, and keep eating!

Curries can be paired with rice, but typically a form of flat bread such as naan is preferred. Meats are commonly marinated making meats moist, tender and so mouth-watering delicious.

I love Indian food, as much as I don’t know much about it and I can’t get enough of it. It’s a cuisine that’s satisfyingly indulgent.
