I’ve featured Pier One before as a hidden Sydney gem that allows guests to book harbour front rooms for half a day. It’s a little treat my friends and I love to indulge in, once in a while for special occasions.
This time round, I was lucky enough to be invited to experience their Luxe Igloo Suite – a time-limited winter experience, curated in collaboration with Tara Milk Tea!
Pier One Sydney Harbour
- Address:
Walsh Bay, 11 Hickson Rd, Sydney NSW 2000
- Website:
The Igloo is situated on an outdoor balcony of one of their beautiful suites overlooking Sydney Harbour. The theme was “Cherry Blossom Wonderland Igloo” – so think white and cream tones with a floral and cozy winter vibe.
I got to the Igloo for a late afternoon session. The Igloo Suite is available for booking at 2.5 hour intervals, and can fit a maximum of 10 people. It’s also available for overnight stays if you’re looking for unique staycation ideas, so make sure to check their website for booking times & conditions!

The Igloo is great fun for anyone who loves taking photos, or anyone who played building a fort as a kid – so don’t worry if you’re not the “all-for-the-gram” type of person. It’s a fun, cozy space to share with friends and loved ones as you enjoy a set menu served by Pier One staff.
We were served the default dining package, and had the chance to try canned Curatif Cocktails, (which I gotta say, were pretty strong lol!) along with beers and wines. We also had a number of snacks, including oysters, grilled Paidine, chicken & wagyu skewers, salmon tartar and more! If you’re still peckish, you’re able to order additional items individually off their menu– they have a range of different dishes that would cater to your dietary requirements.
Personally, I think the Igloo suite is a fun experience you should consider if you have a special event you want to celebrate. The hire fee plus minimum spend makes this 2.5 hour experience a minimum of $600, which comes to $60 per person for a group of 10.
You will also have full access to the hotel suite, so there’s plenty of space to host 10 people – throw a movie on the TV or play some music as you your friends enjoy a catered experience.

The amount of food was sufficient and the level of service was excellent.
And although it was a rainy day the day I went – it was still really pretty once the sky got dark and the fairy lights from the Igloo shined bright.
