EASY DIY ICE-CREAM RECIPES

making the base

Making the base for your ice-cream is really simply. 

What you need:

  • 500g of pouring cream
  • 100g of condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar 

This is enough to make 6 servings of ice-cream. I’ll be splitting it into 3 batches for 3 different flavours we’re making today.  

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Measure out your cream, condensed milk and sugar. Pop it into a mixing bowl and whisk until the whole thing is well combined. 

1. CHOCOLATE ICE-CREAM

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 2

Ice-cream base

1 teaspoon of Cocoa powder 

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Pour your ice-cream base into a mixing bowl with 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder.

Step 2: Mix the ingredients until the whole mixture is well combined. 

Step 3: Get two different size zip-lock bags and pour your ice cream mixture into the smaller one. Then, flatten the bag out and place it into the bigger zip lock bag. 

Step 4: Get a lot of ice and carefully place a generous amount of ice on top of the smaller zip-lock back, as well as under the smaller zip-lock bag. What you get is your ice-cream mixture having the highest degree of contact with ice. 

Step 5: sprinkle some salt on top of your ice. 

Step 6: Shake and agitate the whole thing for 15 minutes (this might take longer)

Step 7: Scoop your ice-cream out and enjoy!

2. VANILLA ICE-CREAM

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 2

Ice-cream base 

1 teaspoon vanilla essense extract

2 pea size drops of vanilla paste

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Pour your ice-cream base into a mixing bowl with 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence extract and a smidge of vanilla bean paste. 

Step 2: Mix the ingredients until the whole mixture is well combined. 

Step 3: Get two different size zip-lock bags and pour your ice cream mixture into the smaller one. Then, flatten the bag out and place it into the bigger zip lock bag. 

Step 4: Get a lot of ice and carefully place a generous amount of ice on top of the smaller zip-lock back, as well as under the smaller zip-lock bag. What you get is your ice-cream mixture having the highest degree of contact with ice.

3. TOFU ICE-CREAM

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 2

Ice-cream base 

1 small block of tofu

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Grab your tofu block and smush it until it becomes tofu paste. 

Step 2: Place your ice-cream base and your tofu paste in a mixing bowl.

Step 3: Gently fold your tofu into the mixture until the whole thing is well combined. 

Step 4: Get two different size zip-lock bags and pour your ice cream mixture into the smaller one. Then, flatten the bag out and place it into the bigger zip lock bag. 

Step 5: Get a lot of ice and carefully place a generous amount of ice on top of the smaller zip-lock back, as well as under the smaller zip-lock bag. What you get is your ice-cream mixture having the highest degree of contact with ice.
