I’ve heard so much about Choji Yakiniku and I’ve been wanting to go for awhile, so when my friends wanted to organise a group get together at Choji.
I said, Yes, count me in! and I’m bringing my camera.

Choji Yakiniku serves up different dining experiences, and for tonight we had their set menu – Niku Bar Menu Course. An amazing 12 course set with an additional 7 other optional add-ons.
From start to end the dining experience was lively, fun and delicious. Here are a few of my favourite for the night.
Thin slice Wagyu Ox tongue with fresh chive and Shiso leaf.

Ox tongue is one of my favourite cuts for Japanese BBQ or Korean BBQ. But it’s one of those cuts that can either go wildly well or wildly bad, and Niku Bar did it well.
Really well.
Super tender, super flavourful and umami paired with the sharp contrast of the Shiso leaf and chive to make it a yummy bite.

Wagyu Oyster Blade
This melted in my mouth the moment it touched my tongue. It was like eating beef butter.
Beefy, meaty, savoury, butter.
Overall experience
The whole experience was great and it was definitely a fun night out. The beef dishes were the main attraction and each dish was executed well. There were a few that lacked the same wow factor when compared to the high quality beef, but I think it was a great balance and thought-out menu.
It’s a great option for a group get together or if you want to celebrate the night away.
